About The Rancho

Rancho Cordillera del Norte, meaning, "Ranch of the North Ridge"..... was established by the late Dr. Carl S. Dentzel, San Fernando Valley pioneer and Director of the Southwest Museum for many years. Inspired by his early experiences in property development and historical activities for the Historical Activities, Dentzel put strong roots down, setting-up offices in the old two story bank building on Reseda Blvd. and Dentzel was instrumental in changing the name of the community from North Los Angeles to its current name Northridge.

Historically located, Rancho Cordillera del Norte lies in the shadow of an area once inhabited by Chumash and Tongva Native Peoples, rancheros, farmers, immigrants, and others, all who left their footprints on the land.
